Located in southeast Lansing, Hawk Island County Park is a large, beautiful park with a swimming beach, a playscape, Splash Pad water playground, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and volleyball courts.
A paved trail winds around the park, past the playscape, picnic shelters, and swimming lake. The trail is used primarily for walking and jogging. Hawk Island Park is a short distance from the
Lansing River Trail.
During the summer, you can rent a rowboat or pedal boat and navigate around the lake.
During the winter, the sledding hill at the back of the park is a popular destination on snowy days. A warming house is open during the wintertime when the park is open.
The park usually closes a half hour after sunset.
