Ludington State Park has a lengthy sandy swimming beach. The park has a popular campground with trails for hiking and cross-country skiing.

Big Sable Point Lighthouse is located at the state park. You can't reach the lighthouse by car, but you can walk or ride a bike to it through the state park.

A bike lane along M-116 can be used to reach the state park.
