The East Beltline is a major thoroughfare in Grand Rapids. Next to the divided highway lanes there are paved trail sections that connect to trails in
East Grand Rapids,
Cascade Township, and Grand Rapids Township.
When riding your bike or jogging on the trails next to the East Beltline, pay attention to your surroundings, especially when crossing at street intersections. The paved trail ends where the East Beltline meets I-96 and then continues on the other side of I-96. If you decide to cross I-96, you'll be sharing the road with vehicles that are entering/leaving ramps for I-96.
Frederik Meijer Gardens, Cornerstone University, and Kuyper College are accessible from the nothern trail section on the East Beltline, while Calvin College and Western Michigan University's East Beltline campus are accessible from the southern trails. There's also several stores, shopping centers and restaurants along the way.
West of the East Beltline, downtown East Grand Rapids has several specialty shops, boutiques, and eateries.
