Once the snow starts to pile up in the Mancelona area, the hum of snowmobiles can be heard in the air. There are miles of snowmobile trails in the region, parts of which are groomed by the Jordan Valley Trails Council.
The snowmobile trails snake along rural highways and roads, across hilly backcountry, and near acres of farm land. The trails are well used during the winter.
