Morley, Howard City, Pierson and Sand Lake Segment Map

The White Pine Trail becomes gravel/dirt between Sand Lake and Howard City. The trail. You will want to use a mountain bike for riding on from on the gravel portion since the section to the north (Stanwood area to outside of Big Rapids) is not well maintained during the summer.

Snowmobiling is allowed during the winter on the trail segment shown on this map.

Near Cadillac, the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail is paved and is used for walking, jogging, roller-blading and biking. The trail connects to the Lake Cadillac Trail, which is a popular route along Sunnyside Drive in Cadillac.

South of the Cadillac trailhead, the trail is paved to Tustin and Le Roy. Between LeRoy and Reed City, the trail is gravel/dirt, and you will want a mountain bike when riding on this part of the trail.

Snowmobiling is allowed during the winter on the trail segments shown on this map.

The White Pine Trail is paved from Reed City south to Big Rapids. The trail can be used for walking, jogging, roller-blading, and biking during the warmer months of the year.

In Reed City, the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail intersects the Pere Marquette Rail Trail. The Pere Marquette Rail Trail is used for biking, jogging and walking east of Reed City to Farwell. West of Reed City, the trail is used for mountain biking and hing for much of the year. The trail is used for snowmobiling during the winter months.

North of Reed City to near LeRoy, the White Pine Trail is gravel/dirt (sometimes grass), and a mountain bike is recommended if you intend to ride this part of the trail.

The White Pine Trail is paved from Big Rapids north to Reed City. The trail can be used for walking, jogging, roller-blading, and biking during the warmer months of the year.

You will want to use a mountain bike if you choose to ride the segment from Morley to Big Rapids. The trail is not well maintained between Stanwood and the south side of Big Rapids, and you will encounter grass growing on the trail.

Cedar Springs has a few stores and restaurants a short distance from the trail.

Sand Lake has a small parking area for the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail, adjacent to the trail.

The Russell Road Staging Area is the designated starting point for snowmobiles on the southern end of the White Pine Trail. Snowmobiles can travel north going to Cedar Springs, Big Rapids, Reed City, and Cadillac.

In Rockford, the designated trailhead for the White Pine Trail is off Main Street on the north side of town, past Wolverine World Wide. There are several businesses and restaurants a short distance from the trail, making Rockford a great spot to take a break along the trail.

Trestle Park is not directly connected to the White Pine Trail, but it's a nice small park just north of the trail on Summit Road. The park has a port-a-pot and a picnic area near an historic railroad trestle.

The Russell Road Staging Area is the designated starting point for snowmobiles on the southern end of the White Pine Trail. Snowmobiles can travel north going to Cedar Springs, Big Rapids, Reed City, and Cadillac.

In the Grand Rapids area, you can access the trail from Riverside Park by riding along the paved trail through the park to Park Street. Cross Park Street and go west to connect to the White Pine Trail.

In Comstock Park, you can park in the lot on the south side of Park Street, near West River Drive. Follow the path and cross Park Street, then go east to the White Pine Trail.

In Belmont, the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail can be accessed from Rogue River Park on the west side of Belmont Avenue.

In Rockford, you can access the White Pine Trail near downtown Rockford.
